Q & A with Erin Washington 1.)    Tell us a little about yourself.

I'm a Temecula OG. I moved here with my family, from LA when I was 8. My husband Alan and I have been married for 8 years. And I have three wild and fun boys, Max, Braylan and Ethan. I'm a stay at home mom, makeup artist and esthetician. And many, many years ago I used to model. 2.)    What inspired you to walk into Crossfit Temecula?

Well, four and a half years ago, Alan started at CFT and he motivated me. He was looking and feeling great and I wanted to feel like that, too. I never enjoyed working out until I started Crossfitting. I was that girl at the gym, who walked around for an hour looking really confused and lost. 3.)    Were you athletic before Crossfit?

Haha, no. Not. At. All. I worked out here and there, but Crossfit is my first and last "sport". I plan to do Crossfit for the rest of my life. 4.)    A wife, a mama, a blog of your own—yet you still make it into the gym everyday with a kid (or three!) in tow. What’s your daily routine?

I wake up at 7, get my crazies, I mean cuties, ready for their day leave the house at 8:30, drop Max and Bray off at school around 8:45. I head to the box with Ethan and usually do the 9:30 class, also known as the "mom" or "ass kicker" class. Then, I go to the store or run errands, get some work done, and clean the house. Around 3, I pick up the boys from school, do homework get the boys to their practices. Around 6, I make dinner do more homework. Then Alan and I get the kids to bed, watch a little Housewives with Alan and work on the blog! Then go to bed around 12 or 1. Working on going to bed earlier, but it's so nice and quiet at night. 5.)    What are some of your hobbies outside of the gym?

Makeup artistry has always been my hobby/profession. But lately, I've been really into my blog about beauty and makeup. It's been hard trying to balance everything. But I love writing and and I love makeup and beauty related things so somehow I got to make it work. 6.)    Name three things that have a daily influence on your health & wellbeing.

1. Crossfit, of course. I love it cause I've never felt more comfortable in my own skin.

2. My dad passed a couple years ago, and it was a really difficult time for me. But with his passing I realized how important it is to take care of my health (and my family's) so I can be here and healthy for my family.

3. To not sweat the small stuff and not take life too seriously. I try to always laugh and have fun, no matter what I'm doing. 7.)    How has Crossfit changed the Washington household?

It's been great for my marriage. We have the same hobby. Even if Alan is a little more hard core than me, we both love it. Plus, I like that my boys watch us work out and watch us doing it together. Oh, and we have a pull-up rig in our backyard, which is awesome. 8.)    Balance is our theme for the month of September. What does balance mean to you?

I'm always trying find balance in my life. Whether it's trying to balance my hectic schedule, trying to find the balance between being a fun parent but still a strict parent or something as simple as having balance in my diet. If I don't have balance in my life, things start falling apart! 9.)    As a coach, one of my favorite qualities of yours as an athlete is that you aren’t afraid of a challenge but you’re also not afraid to be selective about the challenges you go after. How do you choose your goals?

My goals are based off my gains for my glutes, just kidding (but, no, really).  I know my limits and I know what my strengths are. For me, sometimes I just want to sweat and other times I'm feeling brave and push myself to do more weight. It just depends on my mood. My goals are to feel good about myself and my performance and of course, have fun. 10.) If you could choose any WOD, what would it be?

Annie with any movement and throw in a Bulgarian Split Squat, too.
